40 Days of Forgiveness – Day 39 Let Forgiveness Settle In
“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.” ~ Saint Terese of Liseaux
Once you have forgiven someone or yourself, it’s important to take a minute…or rather a few days to let it settle in.
We call this time a “settling into the bones.”
Why is settling important?
Although you might feel great, refreshed, and lighter immediately after you have forgiven, there is a subtle shift in perspective and feeling that happens more slowly.
You might see life differently a day, a week, or a month after you have forgiven.
Or you might notice when you think of that other person a few days later, it doesn’t hurt or sting as bad as it did.
It takes time to notice these subtle changes and realize that you are ok with them.
That’s why taking time to allow forgiveness to settle in is a big key to noticing lasting change.
Good change comes, almost slipping in the back door as if to say, “Surprise, honey I’m home!”
And it lights you up inside once you observe the changes that forgiveness brings.
Forgiveness frees you to open up to life’s possibilities and focus that resentful energy in a more positive way.
Settle in and notice the goodness in your life.
Isn’t it time for you to be fulfilled and vibrant with more of that?
Then Let’s Go! I’m here to help.
