40 Days of Forgiveness – Releasing What Matters Most

When we lose someone close to us, it hurts deep down.
We immediately ask ourselves is there something extra I could have done to help that might have changed what happened?
Regardless of the answer, we struggle with accepting what IS.
We want what WAS back.
We wish we had another day, another moment, if only we had known we would have done it differently.
Loss is a necessary means to reveal what is important, what truly matters.
So you learn to work through the grief of the loss and you resolve to treat your life differently.
The time arises quickly to be grateful for what you do have instead of what you don’t.
And it eventually becomes time to forgive yourself for what wasn’t done or for what was.
As we forgive our part and our connection, we are reminded that we are not perfect and neither were they.
But we did the best we could with what we had at the time and they did too.
As you accept this into your heart, you can begin to move forward.
The process of self forgiveness starts with a simple intention. Say the words or something like this, “Today is the day I will finally forgive myself.”
