40 Days of Forgiveness – Day 9 The Beauty of Simple Forgiveness
“Forgiveness is Love in its highest form.” ~ Fr. Joseph Tagg
Forgiveness seems difficult and hard to do.
It’s not. It’s easy when you have the right tools to be successful and you know what you want.
Forgiveness in its simplest form is releasing an expectation of someone or something.
It is the letting go that they be a certain way or should have done something a certain way.
Nothing is unforgivable, even the worst cases of murder to the careless speaking of a unkind word.
It doesn’t hurt any less, but forgiveness does not excuse anyone from anything.
Rather, it gives the suffering person (you) freedom from the circumstances.
So today, if you are suffering or in pain, instead of resisting that someone or something, instead let go of your expectation of them.
It doesn’t mean you give up or give in.
Let them be what they are in this moment…good or bad, right or wrong.
Feel that allowance deep down and release yourself from them and the situation.
Let Go and Let God do the work.
This is true strength working within you.
Forgiveness is an inside job that gives you permission to be free.
You deserve it.
