40 Days of Forgiveness – Day 10 The Juice We Get From Holding On
“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” ~ Catherine Ponder
For 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 years we let it hang around. That thing he or she did to me that I can’t let go of.
It hurts. It’s painful beyond belief and it brings back the worst memories.
Yet in that pain, there is something there that keeps us going.
I call it The Juice.
The Juice says, “One day, I’ll get them back. I’ll show them they were wrong. I’m waiting for the right opportunity.”
The Juice also says, “This thing has been a part of me for so long. I don’t know how to give it up.”
The Juice tells you,”This is my right. I am entitled to my rights!”
And in the meantime, that juice, the energy of holding on is costing you everything…physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual health.
You must decide to break the bond of steel that is keeping you from your health and your best self and give up the juice of resentment for a sweeter, more nourishing one…the taste of freedom.
The Juice is like a poison. It works from the inside out and eventually kills the vessel.
Forgiveness brings clarity and new life to your system and freedom from pain and suffering.
As I forgave the people who did me wrong in my life, I was able to clearly see that the trials and tribulations that I went through were not something done TO me, but FOR me.
That’s a big change in perspective.
Yes, it is and that’s what forgiveness provides to those who decide that peace of mind and peace of heart are more important to their health that the juice they get from keeping resentment alive.
Resentment will physically eat you alive.
Forgiveness will physically heal your hurt if you allow it.
Resentments happen to teach us how to forgive.
The choice is yours.
Today is a great day to let go of resentment and embrace better health.
It’s your right as well.
