“Forgiveness does not deny anger but faces it head-on.” – Alice Duer Miller
When we hold on to anger or emotions for too long, they build up and cause harm to our body, mind, and spirit.
A person who is unable to release anger and negative emotions is successfully blocking love.
With no access to love, they then in turn feel “forced” to find the negative, inflict punishment, and criticize others.
It’s like a light switch that has been flipped on that we never intended to activate, but now it’s hard to turn it off.
One of the ways you can flip the switch off and release anger is to the verbalize your feelings.
Give voice to that which has been building inside of you for too long.
Find a quiet, space by yourself and imagine that these deep, angry feelings can speak and need to be heard.
Allow yourself to express your hurt or humiliation.
Kick, scream, cry, beat a padded pillow until you get it out.
This method of expression is very useful for anyone who has been through a traumatic experience or has been hurt by someone they care about.
Once this expression has been allowed to surface, go to the mind and access how you can use this powerful energy to bring about lasting change in your life.
With your feelings acknowledged and expressed, you have now cleared the way to focus on positive solutions.
