40 Days of Forgiveness – Day 3
Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
As I realize that to forgive is to strengthen my resolve, I have the power today to let go of the anxiety that stresses me out. Today, I will make a decision to be stress free, calm, and peaceful.
I begin with stating my will. I WILL be peaceful today come what may.
Then I let the stress surface. I stop trying to beat it down or telling it I don’t have time to deal with it. I just let it come to me.
When I feel it moving fast toward me, I tell it, “Stress. You’re killing me! This is ridiculous! I can’t take this and I won’t anymore. Stress, you are going to have to knock on someone else’s door because it’s not going to be mine. I cancel the expectation that you would leave me alone. I’m not doing this to myself anymore.”
As I feel that statement deep down, I begin to take deep breaths and focus on my heart. I picture oxygen coming into my heart and out from my heart. I do this for 3-5 minutes and I begin to feel better.
I have made a conscious choice for peace and calmness. Even though my day will not be any less hectic, I can now approach it with a sense of serenity and trust that I will get done what I need to get done without all the anxiety that usually accompanies it.
I believe that the people closest to me will respond positively to help me control my stress.
I am thankful for the opportunity to be calm and peaceful in the middle of a stressful day.
I am a better person when I am calm. I can do more things effectively. This is my choice for today.
