40 Days of Forgiveness – Day 21 Why We Forgive
We forgive because we are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
We forgive to be free of the connection that we established through someone else’s actions.
We forgive to recognize our own right to peace.
We forgive to let ourselves off the hook for wanting to even the score.
We forgive because peace has become more important than revenge.
We forgive to let go of what is holding us back from our own perspective.
We forgive to feel a sense of fullness again where there has been a gaping hole.
We forgive to say, “You won’t have this negative impact on me anymore!”
We forgive to receive God’s grace that has been patiently waiting on us.
We forgive to break down the self imposed walls we put up for our own protection.
We forgive because we want to feel love that we have not felt for a very long time.
We forgive because we have come to understand that the other person needs healing too.
We forgive to allow our positive energy to flow within us unobstructed.
We forgive to give ourselves the great gift of inner peace and unconditional love.
We forgive because it opens us up to the lesson that only we are meant to learn.
We forgive because we can.
We forgive because it’s time for our own well being to come first.
